About our Club

The club is situated within the parkland area of Hampden Park and is readily accessible by car and local bus routes, and there is ample free parking. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery for all to enjoy.
The club was established in 1979 (see History of the Club) and, as at April 2023, membership stood at 867 (521 Full, 346 Social)

The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday during the winter season 9.30 – 14.30 (last orders by 14.00) and on Sundays 9.30 – 15.00 (pre-ordered roast from 12.30pm).

During the summer season there will be sandwiches, cold snacks and cakes available from the bar. (If you are require food when you finish bowling please pre order and pay at the bar, so it can be ready for you when you come off the rink). 

The bar will stay open for half an hour after the end of the last session.

We are affiliated to the E.I.B.A, Sussex County Indoor Bowling Association and the Sussex County Women’s Indoor Bowling Association.

Facilities

We have six rinks of Greengauge carpet with the highest quality lighting. The running surfaces are kept in immaculate condition ensuring bowlers of all standards enjoy their game. For added comfort an up to date heating/air conditioning system has recently been installed.

Spectators are able to view the greens from a raised area where members and guests enjoy a fully stocked bar at club prices.

Our restaurant seats 120 people and has views over the rinks.

Every Sunday through the winter season Michelle does a Sunday roast, 2 courses, please see the notice board in the club for details of “The Roast of The Day” and to reserve your table, alternatively email Michelle email hidden; JavaScript is required 

Hire of Function Room

The club boasts an enclosed function/dining room which seats a maximum of 120 people.

The table and seating arrangements are flexible and there is an area that can be kept free for dancing. We have a fully qualified in-house catering team who are experienced in catering for private events and would be happy to discuss any requirements.

Rates for hire: £75 for non members, free for members, however a £25 charge will be made to cover next day cleaning.

We also have a well appointed committee room for your meetings/training courses etc.

Social Activities

Our social calendar has a variety of events throughout the year, including regular quiz nights, live music/cabarets with buffet, beetle drives, race nights, ladies afternoon teas etc, and charity events.
The club also arranges an annual trip to Potters Leisure Resort for a Bowling Break.

External Clubs

Hampden Park Art Group meet here Tuesdays 10am – 12noon. This is an informal art group for mixed abilities, no formal instruction but members are happy to help and share their knowledge and experience. Bring your own paints (any media) and materials.
