The Mens and Ladies teams enjoyed continuing success during the season. The Men were runners up in the Sussex County Championship having been Champions in 2023/24, 2022/23 and 2021/22. The Ladies retained the Sussex County Women’s Championship having won this in 2023/24. They were also runners up in the prestigious National Vivienne Trophy reaching the final played at Nottingham with support from a coach full of Club Members. Some of our Bowlers performed well in various National and County competitions.
Our own Club Leagues and Competitions ran throughout the season for both Novice and experienced players. The Finals weekend in April producing some excellent bowling played in the true spirit of the game of bowls. The Junior section is doing well and producing some promising talent for the future. The active social events calendar included a busy Christmas Fayre, a Burns Night complete with Haggis and Piper, the New Years Eve and End of Season Partying as well as regular bingo, quiz and race nights. Our charity fund raising efforts raised around £1,500 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice this season.
We have a steady influx of new members, many of whom are new to the game of bowls and they are taking part in the courses run by our Club coaches.
