Disability Bowls

Disability Bowls England (DBE) is the home for anyone interested in Bowls of any age, gender, ethnicity or ability. Membership is open to anyone with a physical, sensory or intellectual disability to play bowls at all levels from club rollups to representing their country.

(Disability: is defined as anyone that has a long-term health condition, impairment, or illness that has a substantial effect on ability to do normal daily activities. This includes physical, sensory, learning, social, behavioural, or mental health conditions or impairments that have lasted or are expected to last 12 months or more.)

Bowls is a game uniquely available for all people, disabled or non-disabled, to play with or against each other, and here at Eastbourne & District Indoor Bowling Club we encourage our members to integrate and enjoy making new friends.

Our President, Peter Ring, is ambassador for Sussex (which currently has 23 members across the Sussex area) and helps arrange matches against local clubs. Two of our own members recently played with ten others from around the area, for a Disability Bowls England team against Portslade BC.

Anyone interested to know more about playing bowls with a disability can contact Peter Ring by email via our email hidden; JavaScript is required subject heading ‘Disability Bowls’ or check out Disability Bowls England website here www.disabilitybowlsengland.org.uk
