Denny Cup

EASTBOURNE  78  PRESTON  73
The Home Rinks skipped by Mike Taylor and Phil Garrett got off to a flying start and at 10 ends were 15 shots up, but the Preston rinks started to find their shots and the Home teams finished 11 shots up at the end.
The Away Rinks skipped by Ian Coombes and Steve Bain found it hard to find the line and weight on a fast swinging green and at 10 ends were 14 shots down. They then got their heads down and only lost by 6 shots at the end.
Good result lads, keep going for the next round.

A Message From Your Captain

Dear Members,

Another busy summer season has come to an end.

We have played 22 matches against clubs in the area, plus two touring teams.

It was a great effort by members to cover fully all the games, of which we won 14 and lost 8.

We finished the summer period with two games against outside clubs Hampden Park and Saffron’s which brought together members ready for another winter period. Both were good days and it was great to see so many people having a good time together.

Our club is moving forward with your help.

Many thanks,

Peter Ring

Fundraising Tournament

What an amazing day at the club today it was buzzing. 72 bowlers entered into a tournament raising money for a very worthy local charity Children With Cancer Fund based in Polegate. It wasn’t just a day of Bowling there were other games like “How many sprouts in the jar”, “Guess the weight of the toffees in the basket” and there was a queue to play “Bagatelle”. Michelle & Jess were busy all day feeding everyone and Michael was a star at the bar.

The generosity and support of all our members (full & social) their friends and family have enabled us to raise in the region of £1000 we are still counting the pennies and will post the final figure in due course along with some more photo’s of the day. In the meantime we’ll done and thank you big time to everyone taking part and those working behind the scene. Photos below of our winners
